Guess what? This years 2009 ADND would be our 10th anniversary and it is going to be legendary! We have confirmed the details of the night and here are the details!

Peformance Auditions!

Hi everyone!

Are you a talented performer?
Recently formed a band and are waiting for a chance for a debut?
Do you have any form of talent that would amaze people?

The Malaysian Annual Dinner and Dance (ADND) entertainment committee is once again looking for talented performers to perform on ADND '09!
If you're interested and think you've got what it takes, come and flaunt your skills! There will be around 150 people to get awed by your performance.

This year's ADND will be held at StarRoom *click for website* (magnificent view of the harbor) on the 9th of October!

We're looking for ANY sort of performance!
Solo performances,
Instruments,
Band,
Magic shows,
Plays,

and anything else your creative minds come up with!! We accept all that's good!

Don't have a specific song/performance? Don't worry! Perform anything else within your genre and we'll come up with something for you!

We'll be having an audition session this Saturday (15th Aug) 2pm - 5pm @ UTS Tower building or UTS building 2 (both buildings are next to each other anyways)
The exact room is yet to be confirmed, so we'll have to keep you updated on this.

For piano players, there will be a keyboard in the room.

What is ADND?

For the uninitiated, the Annual Dinner & Dance (ADND) is a yearly event where all the four universities in New South Wales get together, reflect the on-goings that went on in the year and celebrate their achievements.

ADND also marks the end of term for the 2009 committees from MASA, MSA, MSO & SUAMS after a year full of fun & hardwork.

Not only that, ADND also unveils the new 2010 committees.

So what better way to celebrate the old and welcome the new with a feast, entertainment and good company.

ADND Dance Party and Slave Auction

The much hyped-about ADND Dance Party and Slave Auction at UN did not fail to live up to its name. Days before the night itself, everyone was raving about the 15 fine, fine selection of slaves; many already setting their target slaves.

The line to get in was long, but the wait was certainly worth it. About 1 a.m., when everyone had had a couple of drinks (some with one shot too many) and done their thing on the dance floor, the crowd gathered in the main room as the auction was about to start.

The slaved lined up in anticipation, while the rest gathered around eagerly.

The host of the auction, Edward, started the auction with the reading of the terms and conditions, and with no further delay, called upon the first slave to be auctioned off. Edward seemed like a seasoned auction host, managing to squeeze the last dollar off every bidder with his skills and charm.

As the auction progressed, the crowd got more generous. People were screaming bids from all over the room in an attempt to secure a slave for themselves.

After the selling of the final slave, Edward announced a surprise – a special surprise slave was to be auctioned of; the Chief Executive Producer of ADND 2007, June See. The roaring of the crowd was the perfect way to sum up the auction.

And with that, the auction ended. The party continued at the bar and at the dance floor, but for some, the night had just begun..

The funds raised from the auction and the party will be committed to coming up with the best ADND ever.

The ADND 2008 committee would like to express our gratitude to the slaves, their generous masters, and the rest of you who were there to liven up the auction and get the party going. We look forward to seeing you all at our next event.

ADND 2008 Auditions

The Annual Dance and Dinner (ADND) 2008 is coming up this October, and we want YOU there to showcase your talent! ADND is one of the most prestigious events on the Sydney Malaysian calendar and it could be YOUR time to shine.

Auditions are open to all! Prizes WILL be given to those selected to perform in ADND 2008. Up for grabs are hampers as well as food vouchers!

A special incentive for our Macquarie University students: we’ll subsidize your transport costs to UTS one way*.

This year we're focusing on musical talent, particularly those with acoustic instruments (this can range from the clarinet, violin, flute, trumpet etc.). However, we're more than open to see any type of talent you want to showcase whether its belly dancing, magic tricks or standup comedy!

Think you have what it takes to perform at the Annual Dance and Dinner this year? Then simply show up at our audition!

Hi Everyone,

ADND is behind us now, but that doesn't mean we don't take the memories with us. I hope everyone had a great time, and I'd like to thank all my directors and executives for making this the awesome journey it was. Against all the odds, we proved resilient and steadfast, and I only hope next year's CEP is as lucky as I was to work with the people I did.

Again, I'd also like to thank our valuable sponsors; your contributions and generosity will always be remembered by the ADND committee of 2007, and we express our heartfelt thanks.

Hi Everyone,

ADND is only 2 weeks away so we hope you've all decided what you'll be wearing and who you'll be taking as dates! (Hint: if you managed to buy a slave at our slave auction on Thursday night, it is totally within bounds to use them as your date for the evening. Why do you think we made the deadline until ADND night midnight?) Sneaky us huh.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the Slave Auction, especially MSO and those who volunteered themselves and their time to be sold as slaves. It was a great success and we raised a whole lot more than we thought we would - $1100!

If you missed out on a chance to purchase a slave, perhaps you can find someone who's nice enough to let you buy their slave off them...it's not unheard of!

If you happen to see anyone carrying around a box of chocolates, they're probably selling on behalf of ADND. Please help us out of our poverty!

Hi Everyone,

We hope you all had a good time at NOVA! We certainly did, and we'd like you thank you greatly for showing us your support and showing up. Thanks to your efforts, we've managed to raise a substantial amount, and we are one step closer to hosting a great ADND.

The ADND Committee are currently on semester holiday (can you say hallelujah?), but that doesn't mean we're slowing down one bit. In fact, we're going to kickstart our fundraising activities again, which you will definitely be seeing, and will hopefully be a part of next semester. Keep an eye out for more fundraising activities, because we'll be keeping an eye out for you. ;)
